GRAB A SHOW
If you can tear yourself apart, then take in a show at Edinburgh Playhouse, Festival City Theatre or The King’s, listed below;
The Vagina Monologues. It’s a risky title, we know, but this coveted comedy is an acclaimed favourite. “See it, even if you haven’t got one” said The Sunday Times. 16 – 21 Feb at Edinburgh Playhouse. www.edinburghplayhouse.org.uk
Royal Scottish National Orchestra – Romantic Valentine’s Classics. Stark contrast to the above title, this swooning performance will melt the hardest of hearts. Sunday 15 February at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre. www.eft.co.uk. Or, tip your toes at Les Ballets Trockaderos de Monte Carlo showing on 20 and 21 Feb.
Glen Miller Orchestra. Music from the all time great with trumpets galore. Get in the mood on Sunday 22 February at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre.
March will be another entertaining month with Gilbert & Sullivan Society playing at The King’s between 17-21 March or The Bohemians – Oklahoma! (24-28 March). Kids favourite SpongeBob SquarePants (11 – 14 March) and the return of Swan Lake (17-19 March) are two other great performances to enjoy at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre, while staying at The Knight Residence.
SCIENCE FESTIVAL
Last year 50,000 people visited the science festival across 14 venues in Scotland’s capital. This year showing at The City Art Centre, 6 – 18 April. Bring the family to discover 2009’s scientific topics and stay at Knight Residence.
