Q: How Do We Get To The Knight Residence From The Airport?

Edinburgh Airport is situated 7 miles west of the City Centre, there are a couple of ways to reach The Knight Residence.

Airlink: This service is provided by Lothain Buses and brings you to the City Centre, then there is around a ten minute walk up the hill to The Knight Residence. This is the least expensive way to arrive into the city centre, and better for the environment. Just follow the signs at the front of the terminal building for 'Flybus'

Car Rental: Edinburgh Airport has a car rental centre where you will find all the major car hire companies, please note that Edinburgh is quite expensive for parking, though hiring a car is a great way to get out of the city and enjoy the surrounding countryside, please click here for more details on parking charges at The Knight Residence.

Taxi: In front of the terminal building you will find two areas for taxis, there are private hire taxis, these are proper cars and people carriers ideal for larger parties, there is also the 'BlackCab' these seat up to five persons both are regulated by Edinburgh District Council, please do not get in any other taxis other than those on the stands. A Taxi Cost approx £17.00GBP and will bring you direct to The Knight Residence and takes around 20 minutes.

Chauffeur Service: For those wishing to indulge themselves there are various chauffeur companies that offer a 'meet and greet' service. Rates can vary enormously and start from around £50 for a typical airport transfer.

Q: Do You Provide Cots And High Chairs?

Cots and High Chairs are available on request and are provided free of charge. We provide Complimentary G&S BeeKind Luxury Toiletries, Activity packs and of course our renowned Knighty Knight Teddies for our younger guests.

Q: What Is The Earliest Time I Can Check In?

Check in time is guaranteed from 2.30pm, however, we can sometimes arrange an early check-in, subject to availability, nominal fee applies. If the apartment is not ready when you arrive we are more than happy to store your luggage free of charge, so you are free to enjoy the city.

Q: What Is The Latest Time I Can Check Out?

Apartments should be vacated by 11.00am, on the day of departure; this is in order for our Housekeeping Team to fully service the apartment for the next arrival.

Subject to availability, we can extend this time until 1pm however this is does incur a nominal fee. We are more than happy to look after your luggage if you are not leaving the city until later on during the day.

Q: What are the hours for housekeeping?

Our Housekeeping Team are on site from 9am until 2pm, Apartments are serviced daily for City Apartments and Monday – Saturday inclusive for our Comfort Apartments.

Each Apartment has a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign and also ‘No Service Required’ sign should you not require this service. Bed Linen is changed every second day and towels, as and when required.

Outwith these times our Concierge is available should you require anything.

Q: What Is Provided On My Arrival?

We offer a Complimentary Welcome basket that contains: Bread, Milk, Cereals, Orange/Apple Juice, Jams/Jelly and Biscuits, we also provide Tea, Coffee and Sugar.

Under you kitchen sink you will find detergent for your washing machine and dishwasher, as well as washing up liquid, tea towels iron/iron board.

In your bathroom you will find a range of Complimentary Luxury toiletries that include soap and shampoo.

Luxury Bathrobes, Towels and hairdryers.

Q: Where Do We Park Our Car And How Much Does It Cost?

Our private car park is behind the main building, accessed from High Riggs. The postcode of the car park is EH3 9BW. 

Parking is provided with one car parking space per apartment and is charged at £7 per day, for those wishing to park more than one car, a nominal fee of £20.00GBP per day is applicable. (Subject to availability)

Q: Do You Charge For Internet Access?

The Knight Residence offers Complimentary Internet Access, either by means of WI-FI throughout all buildings or in our Superior Apartments, a hard wire cable is also provided for a broadband connection. On each floor, of the main building, we provide Guest PC's for use during your stay, again these are offered free of charge.

Q: Which are the quietest apartments?

The one bedroom comfort apartment, two bedroom comfort apartments and two bedroom city apartments are very quiet having bedrooms which face into our parking courtyard.  The three bedroom comfort apartment has two rearward facing quiet bedrooms.  The third bedroom is street facing.  The city studio and city one bedroom apartment have street facing bedrooms.  Street facing bedrooms are generally quiet but some city noise can be experienced, particularly if bedroom windows are open.
