Introduction

The Knight Residence is situated in the heart of Edinburgh’s vibrant Old Town, 0.4 Miles (6 minutes walk) from the centre of the Grassmarket and 1.1 Miles (16 minutes walk) from the East end of Princes Street and the main railway station, Edinburgh Waverley.

The Knight Residence apartments are also superbly located for access from the main road and rail arteries, with Edinburgh International Airport being a mere 8 miles away.

The main building of The Knight Residence, which houses our reception, can be found in a side street just off West Port on a street called Lauriston Street.

The Knight Residence is made up of a combination of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with a total of 28 Service Apartments.

Check-in, Welcome and Car Parking

Our on-site reception is manned from 07.00 - 23.00 for check-in and check out.
We have a secured, floodlight, on-site car park situated at the rear of our building, with one space per apartment (Additional charges apply) Car parking for both disabled badge holders and electric cars available. Our Car park is accessed through electronic gates, fobs for these gates are obtained from the main reception (Lauriston Street) or there is a buzzer located on the left hand side at the entrance to the gates.
The car park is levelled, tarmac flat, though slightly uneven in places, All spaces are clearly lined out and identified with ‘Hotel Parking’.
On-street car parking is available - Pay and display upto £2.00 per hour.
Access to the apartments is direct from our car park.

Entrance to The Knight Residence - City Apartments

From Lauriston Street - The entrance is accessed through a 3ft (92cm) wide door that can be accessed electronically. This leads through to four small steps - 17cms high, 25cms deep and 193cms wide. There are handrails located on both sides of these steps, at the top of these steps you will find our reception desk.
From our Car Park - The entrance is accessed through a 3ft 7’ (110cms) wide door that can be accessed electronically, this step free access leads through to our basement level and the elevator that services all floors of the building is located on the left as you enter.

The Front door of the apartment is 8ft 8’(81cm) wide and is accessed directly from the landing. The keyhole lock to each apartment is 3ft 3’ (99cm) high. The apartment door has a doorbell that are 4ft (122cm) high, name plate and letter box.
The Studio apartment is located on the ground floor.

Entrance to the front of this building is then through a 3ft (92cm) wide door that is accessed electronically and a further door of the same size to the elevator that accesses all floors.
13 High Riggs (3 x Comfort Two bedroom apartments) - These apartments are accessed through a 3ft (92cm) wide metal gate with a latch 4ft (122cm) high. This leads to 7 steps - 15cm high, 27cm deep and 250cm wide. There is a handrail located on both sides of these steps. There is a further one small step Entrance to the front of this building is then through a 3ft (92cm) wide door that is accessed electronically and a further door of the same size to the elevator that accesses all floors.
